What does your organisation do?
Siyafunda
CTC is a public place where people can access Computers, the Internet,
and other digital technologies that enable them to gather information,
create, learn, and communicate with others while they develop essential
digital skills.

The focus is on the use of digital technologies to
support community, economic, educational, and social
development—reducing isolation, bridging the digital divide, promoting
health issues, creating economic opportunities, and reaching out to
youth.

 | | What current projects are you involved in?
Siyafunda
CTC establishes ICT Centres in partnerships and relationships with
stakeholders, such as local government, private business organisations
and community based non-governmental organisations in delivering
Community Technology Centres in previously disadvantaged areas, thereby
making the vision a reality: “ensuring that all citizens are computer
competent and have access to information and communication
technologies, the internet and email”

To expand the network of centres throughout South Africa
Technology is considered to be an enabler. How do you think it can be used to make your work easier?
Being
an ICT Access Centre , we depend entirely on technology to network and
communicate with all stakeholders, role-players, partners and
communiies.

Yes,
it plays a significant an important role in exposing us to see what is
happening throughout the world and learning and implementing some of
the innovative technologies and services used elsewhere.
