The programme aims to advance the quality of education and provide alternative channels for economic progress. By building partnerships with governments and schools it works to integrate knowledge into daily teaching, learning and research.
This programme has partnered with 101 countries and offers a wide variety of tools and training programmes that have equipped over 2, 5 million teachers and 57 million students around the world.
Three key programmes help educators employ technology throughout the learning process, and enable students to achieve their learning goals.
In South Africa the Partners in Learning Programme partnered with various organisations. One of the projects involved a partnership with Lonmin, the biggest platinum producer in the world, to create a digital literacy course for students and teachers in the area.
