NGOConnect Africa is an online meeting space for like-minded non-profit entities, and the individuals, organizations and commercial and governmental entities that support them. This convergence of thinking and sharing ideas is known as a collaborative hub or e-Co Hub.

This site is designed to grow and adapt to suit your needs regarding ICT.  Today it is just the initial framework.  We need your help for it to grow!  The more you engage and contribute, the more it will change, adapt and respond... The more it will become a resource for you to better achieve your goals... The more others will get involved to help collaborate on projects and solutions.

Why NGOConnect Africa ?

The motivation for NGOConnect Africa is to increase the implementation and usage of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) within non-government organisations (NGOs) to help them achieve their mission and become more effective and efficient.  NGOConnect Africa is a practical implementation of the eighth Millenium Goal -   utilizing technology to bring together organizations to create greater socio-economic impact. 

Using technology, NGOConnect Africa is able to bridge the gaps of geography across Africa, and build relationships between NGOs, the private sector and  governments to jointly work on projects, incubate ideas and celebrate  successes.  

Microsoft with its interest in long term sustainable economic growth through its Unlimited Potential Programme and other local initiatives, was interested in making this technology collaboration happen.  They are a founding sponsor of NGOConnect Africa, but we have many other interested sponsors. 

NGOConnect Africa is not a typical website or portal – it is a working site (or gateway) bringing together organizations and resources to facilitate usage of ICT for development (ICT4D) to achieve organizational goals.  The e-co hub is designed to:

• INFORM: Information, resources, tools, best practices, success stories and more to help you get started or continue with ICT4D

• ENGAGE: Opportunities for NGOs and their “Friends” to engage in forums on focus topics, ideas, projects. 

• COLLABORATE: Move from a project idea to a collaboration.  Bring in partners.  Find funders.  Deliver solutions.  Grow.
